How to Find Your Ward and Ward Member in Kerala
7 November 2026
Every home in Kerala falls in a ward of a grama panchayat, municipality or corporation, and each ward elects one member. That person is usually your first stop for a broken street light, a waste problem or a road that needs repair. Here is how to find them.
1. Check your local body's website
Local bodies in Kerala have their own websites under lsgkerala.gov.in, and many list their elected representatives ward by ward. Start from the list of local bodies published by the Local Self Government Department, open your panchayat or municipality, and look for the elected representatives page.
The department also publishes the members elected in the 2025 local body elections for each local body, with the ward name, member and party. The December 2025 polls covered 23,612 wards across 1,199 local bodies.
2. Use the Ente Ward app
The Ente Ward app lets you pick your district, local body and ward, and shows your ward member. You can also use it to follow local updates and report a problem. The ward and member names come from public records of the State Election Commission and the Local Self Government Department.
3. Ask at your local body's office
If you are not sure which ward your home is in, the front office of your panchayat or municipality can tell you. Take your house number or a recent property tax receipt to make it easier. Your voter ID details can also help, because the voter list is arranged by ward.
What to tell your ward member
You will get a quicker answer if you share:
- The exact place, with a nearby landmark
- What the problem is and how long it has been there
- A photo, if you can take one safely
- A phone number where you can be reached
When a ward has changed
Ward names and boundaries can change between elections, and by-elections can change the member. If what you find looks out of date, check with your local body's office.
